Brad Pitt is playing it safe after a dramatic break-in and robbery at his Los Angeles residence. While overseas promoting his latest film in Europe, thieves entered his property, and to avoid a repeat, he hired a new 24/7 security team.
A brief overview
Brad Pitt Home Security
Nearly one month ago, unknown intruders entered the 61-year-old actor’s $6 million Los Feliz home while he was away for the “F1” movie promotional tour in Europe. On June 25, local authorities were contacted by neighbors who reported the burglary.
Sources say the thieves climbed over the fence into the property and entered through the front window, where they spent approximately ten minutes in the home, removing personal items of an unknown value.
Burglary Incident
Reports state that a neighborhood security patrol had been present just an hour before the burglary, but left right before the thieves came.
“It was unfortunate”, said a source close to the actor. Pitt did not want to take the chance that this kind of thing would happen again and thus hired a private security team to monitor the property 24/7. “When Brad was at home, there was always personal security. Now, there are security guards there 24/7,” the source added.
Celebrity Home Security Concerns
Neighbors had expressed concern prior to the burglary based on the low fencing around the property and easy access to the home. The cost for the enhanced security is thought to be tens of thousands per month, but as one person close to Pitt said bluntly, “Brad can afford it.”
Brad Pitt’s Los Angeles Property
Interestingly, Pitt had already downscaled before the burglary. He sold his $33 million Los Feliz mansion in 2023 and bought a smaller, more modern property from oil heiress Aileen Getty.
The “Steel House”, as it has been nicknamed, is roughly 2,000 square feet and in an L-shape. It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows, a swimming pool and a built-in sauna. He currently lives there with his partner, Ines de Ramon, 32, with whom he has been romantically linked since he ended his high-profile relationship with Angelina Jolie.

Hollywood Life and New Film “F1”
While thieves ransacked his home, Pitt was in London attending the European premiere of “F1” in Leicester Square, where he walked the red carpet alongside Tom Cruise and other cast members.
In the film, Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a veteran racer returning from retirement to help save his friend Ruben Cervantes’s (Javier Bardem) racing team several years after he nearly injured himself in a crash.
