A brief overview
Here’s why it works
It’s best to set hair while it dries. If you style it, just a little damp just before bed, you’ll have the curl pattern by morning. And since there is no heat involved, you will have less damaged hair and greater shine.
Overnight curl techniques
- Work with damp hair, not wet – towel dried or misted is best.
- Using foam rollers, flexi rods, or twist your hair into two loose buns.
- Use satin scrunchies or pins which won’t leave a dent to secure.
- Wrap your silk scarf or bonnet over top to protect the shape and minimize frizz.
- In the morning, use your fingers to gently unravel and wise to avoid brushing your dry curls.
Each method will create a slightly different curl – buns create loose waves, roller create more of a defined spiral. The whole point is to find a method which is comfortable enough for you to sleep in, which would be the method right for your hair type.
🖤 Great for next-day events, easy mornings, or for adding shape without heat damage.
